Fattoush Lady is jam packed during lunchtime and for good reason; they offer a hefty, flavorful salad at a reasonable price. Their best and most popular item by far is their "Fattoush" salad, comprised of mixed greens, broccoli, cauliflower, spices and vinegar dressing. Combine this with a large helping of shawarma chicken, oily garlic sauce, and pita at ~$12 and you have a lunchtime winner. The dressing helps cut through the garlic sauce, and it all comes together quite nicely. -

I believe Madame Fattoush Lady was located somewhere else before closing and re-opening at this new location fairly recently (this year, I think). Many people were excited for them to come back, so, of course, I had to stop in. I had been craving a fattoush salad and decided to grab one to go on the way to work. The line-up was to the door, which was a good sign that it was so busy, but service was fast.
Unlike most other shawarma places, the fattoush salad here was already made and in a large quantity, rather than having to be assembled as people ordered. It was very popular, so the container kept getting refilled with fresh salad. I ordered a medium chicken fattoush salad (a large comes with one or two salads, like fattoush, tabbouleh, or Greek), which also comes with a serving of garlic sauce or hummus, and a quarter of a thin pita bread on the side, if you'd like. I saw a sign near the front that said they have spicy garlic and spicy hummus now as well. I went with the garlic sauce and asked for some tahini on top.
The salad was not at all soggy, which you may expect if it was pre-tossed. I noticed it had also some extra veggies in it that you don't often see in other fattoush salads, like little cauliflower florets and I think some broccoli - great addition for texture and heartiness. The pita bread in the salad is baked instead of fried, so not as crunchy as I would have liked, but definitely crunchier than I expected, especially when they were already tossed in the salad. I like a lot of garlic sauce, so I thought the portion they scooped on the side may not have been enough, but it was perfect and stronger than some others I've had, which is great (for me, but not for my colleagues). The salad dressing itself was just the perfect amount of tartness and sourness for me - lemon juice, I think, and super refreshing.
Unlike the beef that was in a container with the marinade(?), the chicken was the only meat on the vertical rotating spit to shave off. Surprisingly, it was far more tender and moist than I thought it would be - an opposite experience to other chicken shawarmas I've had. I don't typically prefer chicken because it tends to be overcooked, but this was done just right and very flavorful.
The service was fast and friendly, and the filling meal was under $10 with tax, which is unheard of and usually at least $13 or so without tax. I was happy with absolutely everything about it, and the restaurant itself is modern and clean, so I may even sit in one day to try their other wraps and potatoes. Recommend this place 110%. -

This is an unbelievably popular lunch spot with lines out the door during the lunch rush. If you're here, just say "large (or small) fattoush salad with chicken". I wouldn't recommend ordering anything else, it's nothing special.
I've gone several times and noticed their quality and portions varies quite a bit...sometimes you get a heaping portion of crunchy salad with chicken freshly cut off the spit, other times it's a meagre, soggy situation (they pre-toss their salad). Their garlic sauce is also more creamy/oily and less intense than most of the shawarma places nearby. Don't even get me started on that stale, cold pita quarter that they hand out at the end...bleh. -

I'll keep this review short. Great food, excellent value, very popular spot but with limited seating. If you are hungry and love great ethic food eat here.

Fattoush Lady is a great Lebanese lunch spot. While Ottawa has no shortage of Lebanese places, Fattoush Lady manages to stand out by placing their excellent fattoush salad front and center... when you walk from the door to the counter it's literally the centerpiece.
I've been here twice and had the fattoush salad with hummus and falafel. The salad was tasty with some nice cripsy pieces of fried pita, and the falafel was fresh.
The hummus is flavourful and I think they blend it extra smooth and a little on the liquid side so you can mix it with the salad. The lunchtime lineups tell you they are doing something right, and happily they are pretty efficient so no reason to stay away.
